Micro R/C cars are excellent toys
for the indoors; in the home or even in the office. They small,
very portable and can be taken anywhere and driven on the
go.
These micro R/Cs range in size
from just under two inches (1:66 scale) like DigiQ cars,
to six inches (1:24 scale) like Xpress Mini-X cars. Many
of the smaller mini R/Cs have standard forward, reverse,
left and right functions such as Bit Char-G cars while some
larger ones offer full digital proportional control like
Kyosho Mini-Z cars.
Many Micro RC cars can be upgraded
or modified to push their speed limits. Tomy Bit Char-G
cars are very easy to modify using custom techniques. Auldey
cars are 1:32 scale R/Cs that can be modified with new electronics
and motors making them exceed speeds of 15 miles per hour.
Cars like Mini-X and Mini-Z have many manufactured hop-up
parts available for purchase, just like full-size 1:10 scale
R/Cs.
Mini-X and Mini-Z cars offer
full digital proportional control with pistol-grip controllers.
These function exactly the same as larger 1:10 scale R/C
vehicles. Mini-X cars are four-wheel-drive and have full
independent suspension and are slightly larger than Mini-Z
cars. Mini-Z vehicles come in numerous varieties as opposed
to Mini-X cars which have one standard chassis. Mini-Z vehicles
are available in many series: MR-01, MR-02, Formula 1, Overland,
and Mad Force monster trucks. All kinds of detailed body
styles are available for Mini-Z cars. They look strikingly
similar to their full-size real counterparts.
There are many variations of
Mini-Z cars and many brands such as Iwaver that make inexpensive
replicas and parts that are backward compatible with Kyosho
Mini-Z cars.
MR-01 is the first Mini-Z series
released; these come as many styles of racing sedans and
sports cars. MR-02 series is the newer version of MR-01
which includes an improved center of gravity and a new ESC.
Formula 1 Mini-Z cars come in many styles of official circuit
racing cars. Overland series features off-road vehicles
such as SUVs and trucks. Mad Force monster trucks are just
as their title says, off-road monster trucks.
Venom Racing makes a mini 1:20
scale monster truck called the Mini Giant. Tamiya also makes
a mini monster truck called the TLT-1 Rock Buster which
is powered by a full-size 540 motor and 1:10 scale style
electronics packed into a 1:18 scale chassis! All of these
monster trucks are ready to haul over any terrain and kick
up dust clouds.
